The Journey  won 1st prize in the watercolor division  at the 83rd Annual International Juried Exhibition at the Art Association of Harrisburg, PA.   Giclee prints of the painting are available.


Chain Reaction was juried into the

Allied Artists of America 2010 exhibit where it received the Mary Bryan Memorial Award for excellence in watercolor.

Arsters was exhiibited in the Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2012 at the State Museum of Pennsylvania from June 17 to September 9, 2012.  There were 140 works chosen for the exhibition from 1,834 entries.


Arsters was also on display at the Kenosha Public Museum in Kenosha, Wisconsin from May 07 through July 31, 2011 as part of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America’s  35th Annual National exhibit - “Celebrate Watercolor”.  Arsters was one of only 81 selected out of 708 submitted paintings.  Howard attended a reception at the Museum in June 2011, where he was awarded the prestigious Signature membership to the Transparent Watercolor Society.  Signature members are those who have been accepted in three annual juried TWSA exhibitions.

Howard’s painting Notan* was selected to be part of an exchange exhibit between the Watercolor Honor Society and the Japanese Watercolor Foundation.  This exhibit took place in April 2010 at the National Art Center in Toyko, Japan. 


*Nōtan is a Japanese design concept involving the play and placement of light and dark next to the other in art and imagery.




Over the Bed was selected to be included in the Allied Artists of America 99th Annual Exhibition which runs from November 9 - 18, 2012.  The exhibit will be held at the National Arts Club Galleries 15 Gramercy Park South, New York, NY.


Over the Bed was also exhibited in 2011 in the Mississippi Watercolor Society Grand National watercolor exhibition held at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, MS.


Tilghman was the 2012 recipient of the Margaret and William Foley Award in the 31st annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors.  The exhibit is currently on display at the Arts Center in Old Forge, NY from August 12 to October 8, 2012.

Corrosion will be on display at the International Society of Experimental Artists 21st Annual Juried Exhibition.  The exhibit will be held at North Shore Arts Association September 21 through October 21, 2012 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
